Full & Fabulous 40th Anniversary Gala & Image Awards Brings New Meaning to 40 and Fabulous!
Detroit, MI, September 19, 2022 - What young girl doesn’t yearn to hear the words “You are beautiful just the way you are”? Unfortunately, girls today are relentlessly bombarded with images and messages that convince them they need to be thinner, taller, prettier, smarter… the list goes on! But Full & Fabulous (https://www.fullandfabulous.org/), a 501c3 non-profit organization created by Sharon DuMas, focuses on motivating plus size women and girls to jump start their journey to self-esteem, using her health, beauty and self-esteem guide book. This entire year has been a nonstop roller coaster of positivity, starting with the release of the “Full & Fabulous” theme song in April, the Health and Mental Wellness Fair in July, and “A Rose is A Rose” Debutante Ball in August, and will soon culminate with the Full & Fabulous 40th Anniversary Gala & Image Awards on Saturday, October 1st, at 6 PM at The Legacy Loft on 34770 Groesbeck Highway in Clinton Charter Township, MI, 48035. Sharon says enthusiastically, “This is the grand finale of our 40th year celebration. We will honor the women and girls who believe their experience with Full & Fabulous has made a difference in their careers, communities, and others as a way to inspire our plus size/curvy girls to set goals, make healthier choices, and strive to do their best regardless of their size and not let their body-image dictate their success in life!” The Gala will include an all-male fashion show with The Fashion Kings of Detroit and Silver Fox Furs, entertainment by the great Violinist Michael Saxon (https://michaelsaxon.bandcamp.com/) and friends, a deliciously decadent dinner, and an uplifting keynote address by special guest Kim Coles, actress, comedian, author, motivational speaker, and coach who is best known for her role as appealing, slightly empty-headed Synclaire from Living Single, and will also be receiving the Full & Fabulous Comedy Icon Award. Kim states, “The most impactful way to empower someone is to help them embrace their greatness.” Guests can even meet Kim, who is starring in the upcoming show Finding Happy on the BOUNCE network, face to face at the private VIP reception from 6-7 PM the day of the Gala.
